Agroinovations: Innovators are competing for 20 000 eur, which will help them develop their business idea.

Until march 15th, agrifood entrepreneurs can apply for an European program with which they can do a market research

“Seedbed” is an initiative of the European Institute for innovations and technologies in the foods sector EIT Food, which helps beginner entrepreneurs to find out whether their products or services can find a market or not.

What does the incubator look like and towards who is Seedbed aimed at?

Seedbed is a program that helps teams over a six-month period better understand their customers' needs and explore if there is a market for their business ideas. Seedbed is designed for early-stage products or services that utilize innovative agri-food technologies.

Technological and business entrepreneurs and start-up companies that want to test their ideas can apply for the program. Seedbed enables them to identify their key customers, research the market and develop their idea.

The program allows participants to test the market directly with over 100 potential customers. Finally, they channel their idea to a group of industry experts, receiving feedback and a chance to receive up to € 20,000 in EIT Food funding to bring the product to market.

The application is until March 15, 2020 through the EIT Food platform.

At the 5-day camp, Seedbed participants are introduced to a unique, customer-oriented methodology that helps them create a startup business model. They also receive mentorship from leading experts in the sector, as well as participation in a closing event to present their already developed business idea.

This year's program will be held in Northern Ireland, Denmark, Germany, Spain and Poland and will support innovative entrepreneurs from all over Europe to get out and meet potential clients. Here is what mentors and participants share in a previous issue of Seedbed.
