From April 21 to June 30, 2020, the acceptance of documents for short-term loans to producers of fruits and vegetables in field and greenhouse production for the 2020 harvest will continue. Out of these, BGN 5 million are allocated to support greenhouse production.
The decision aims to support Bulgarian fruit and vegetable producers. It is also in line with the request of the National Association of Greenhouse Producers to take measures following the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).
Farmers who have submitted and closed an application under the coupled production schemes for fruit and field and / or greenhouse vegetables for the 2020 harvest are eligible. Gardeners and fruit growers must have applied for support under the same schemes at least 3 years ago (for Campaign 2017, for Campaign 2018 and for Campaign 2019).
The loans are secured by establishing a special pledge of future receivables under coupled support schemes for fruits and vegetables for 2020. The funds will be provided within 7 working days after the registration of the special pledge. The loans will be provided at an interest rate of 2% and should be repaid by June 30, 2021.
