The breeders received BGN 22 million under de minimis

The State Fund for Agriculture paid nearly BGN 22 million (21,758,786) to 13,065 farmers under the de minimis aid. Subsidies were given to farmers raising cows, heifers, buffaloes, ewes and goats. The period in which farmers could apply for the scheme lasted from 11 to 24 August.

Support rates are:

• BGN 40 to the 50th animal, incl. and BGN 20 from the 51st animal for dairy cows under selection control;

• BGN 40 to the 50th animal, incl. and BGN 20 from the 51st animal for dairy cows;

• BGN 20 for dairy cows in mountainous areas;

• BGN 40 to the 50th animal, incl. and BGN 30 from the 51st animal for beef cows and / or heifers;

• BGN 110 for beef cows under selection control;

• BGN 80 for buffaloes;

• BGN 15 for the 200th animal, incl. and BGN 10 per 201 animals for ewes and / or she-goats under selection control;

• BGN 10 for ewes and / or she-goats in mountainous areas;

• BGN 10 for ewes and / or she-goats that are not under selection control, outside the animals in mountainous areas;

The purpose of the emergency aid is to support farmers suffering losses due to drought and the negative impact of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19). The total amount of funds under the de minimis scheme that a farmer or enterprise can receive is up to the BGN equivalent of EUR 25,000 for a period of three consecutive tax years.

The remaining farmers will receive their subsidies after the completion of the additional administrative checks.
