The Executive Director of the State Fund "Agriculture" - RA Vasil Grudev signed 103 new contracts under sub-measure 6.1 "Starting aid for young farmers" under the RDP 2014-2020. The contracts have a total subsidy value of over BGN 5 million.
The interest of young people in the financial support aimed at creating and modernizing viable and sustainable farms has always been huge. As young farmers are the focus of support policies in the current programming period, by Order of the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry, the budget for the last reception under sub-measure 6.1 was increased by BGN 12.9 million. BGN (43,027,600 BGN or 22,000,000 EUR) the funds to help young farmers reached nearly BGN 56 million.
Since the second admission under sub-measure 6.1 in the autumn of last year, 853 contracts have been signed. At the moment, another 103 are being financed. The support that each of them will receive amounts to EUR 25,000. Another 212 projects remain for consideration, for which a budget is available. They received a ranking of 35.95 to 35.02 points, according to the evaluation criteria.
Under sub-measure 6.1 during the current programming period of the RDP, without the new 103 contracts, 2,094 contracts were concluded for a total of BGN 102.386 million. The subsidy paid under them amounts to over BGN 82.6 million (BGN 81,603,067).
